The Custom 24 stands as the definitive PRS guitar. This legendary instrument made its debut at PRS Guitars’ inaugural Winter NAMM show in 1985, and it has consistently been a best-seller since then. Favored by internationally touring artists, local musicians, and aspiring guitarists alike, the Custom 24 is equipped with PRS’s innovative Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups, complete with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. The 85/15 pickups, crafted by Paul Reed Smith himself, deliver exceptional clarity along with an extended range in both high and low frequencies.
The Custom 24 is the flagship model of PRS. From the moment it was launched, it has provided a distinctive tonal palette for dedicated players, establishing the hallmark PRS sound and playability.
In 2024, PRS Guitars will enhance the tuning machines on several of our Core models. Our new Wing buttons, designed to reflect the wingspan of the 12th fret bird inlay, were primarily created for tonal enhancement dating back to 1982. These lighter buttons reduce energy loss from the vibrating strings, allowing the guitar to resonate longer and produce a more harmonious tone.
