The design incorporates a neck carve, scale length, and fingerboard radius inspired by Mayer's early 1960s guitars, yet it is equipped with a modified PRS-style headstock and locking tuners, ensuring its relevance in the modern era. When paired with a tube amplifier, the guitar's single-coil pickups produce bright, musical tones with remarkable clarity. Additionally, the Silver Sky is equipped with a bone nut, a molded metal jack plate, redesigned knobs, custom fret wire, and PRS's double-action truss rod.
