Deering 12" Fiberskyn Low Crown Vega Banjo Head | No Limit Guitar Co
The Deering Fiberskyn 12" Low Crown (Vega) banjo head delivers a warm, round tone with a plunky character. It’s a favorite with old-time, clawhammer and frailing players, and it’s available now at No Limit Guitar Co in Idaho Falls.
Product Overview
This Deering Fiberskyn banjo head is 12" in diameter with a low crown profile, in the Vega size.
Many players prefer the treble accents of a standard frosted banjo head. The Fiberskyn’s mellower tone suits a different job: accompanying folk tunes in group jam sessions.
On an open back banjo, the Fiberskyn head is less dominant. Instead of cutting over the group, it warbles along like another voice in the jam.
Ideal For
- Clawhammer and frailing players looking for a warm, round banjo tone
- Old-time musicians who prefer a plunkier sound
- Folk jam players who want an open back banjo that blends with the group
- Players moving from a frosted head to a mellower tone
