Seymour Duncan Vintage Phat Cat Silencer Pickup Set - Nickel
The Seymour Duncan Vintage Phat Cat Silencer Pickup Set gives humbucker-equipped guitars genuine P90 tone without the hum, now available at No Limit Guitar Co in Idaho Falls. These humbucker-sized P90s deliver the raw midrange bark and dynamic touch response P90s are known for, with quiet operation even under gain. They’re a straightforward upgrade for players of any level who want new sounds without modifying their guitar.
Product Overview
The Phat Cat has long been a popular way to get P90 tone from a guitar routed for humbuckers. This Silencer version builds Seymour Duncan’s noiseless P90 design into that same humbucker-sized format. Each pickup has a nickel cover that fits standard humbucker rings and suits both vintage and modern guitars.
Output is voiced to match classic vintage P90 specs, so the pickups respond the way a traditional P90 should. Expect thick mids, a bright, edgy top end, and a dynamic feel that cleans up when you roll back the volume. The neck pickup leans warm and vocal, and the bridge adds bite for rhythm and lead work.
The Silencer design removes the 60-cycle hum that has kept many players away from P90s. That makes these pickups practical under stage lights, near amps, and in the studio. They drop into most standard humbucker routes without any routing or woodwork.
Ideal For
- Players with humbucker-routed guitars who want P90 tone without routing their body
- Blues, garage rock, and punk guitarists after gritty, midrange-heavy single-coil bark
- Gigging guitarists who have avoided P90s because of hum under high gain
- Studio players needing quiet pickups with classic vintage character
- Guitarists looking for the best noiseless P90 pickups for a humbucker guitar
